They are fantastic, open 7 days a week and not badly priced, friendly caring staff

My family have always received great service from the staff here. You kind of have an expectation from national chains for things to be a bit corporate and impersonal but its really not like that at all. We have unfortunately have lost a couple of small pets recently and the staff did all they could for them right until the end, the nicest touch was receiving a card a few days later offering condolences to my wife who was upset. (Thank you )The prices are less than you would expect and unlike a lot of vets the animals come first and the money later, the way it should be.

We had a little tour with the grandchildren and were shown the animals and got to feed the fish, they loved it!!

I really love pets at home. They helped me out with all my queries and were really fun to talk to.

Brilliant initial consultation and thorough attention given to my Dog and full medical and forward plan of when to bring him in for boosters, checkups and he was prescribed medication for arthritis which would be a small dose for the rest of his life. He is of senior age, the receptionist also introduced us to a monthly pet care plan which benefitted us and our circumstances. Follow up appointment was less orderly. He had a ear pouch hematoma which was enormous, had drained by itself once and automatically filled again. I was advised not to put him through having a draining and stapling procedure and he would possibly at worst have a slight cauliflower ear. I took that advice and finally 2 weeks later, it burst itself and upon healing, my dogs ear was left half the size of his other ear and completley deformed in shape. From there onwards, they were insisting on samples of urine, bloods being taken more often than necessary and would often say he couldn't have his repeat prescription for his medication until he'd had X,Y or Z and they always stated that whatever was required was as a matter of urgency which always resulted in me having to chase them for results of bloods or urine tests as without them, he'd be waiting for meds..They would then agree to issue 3 days worth to cover the time period for blood results coming back and charge me half the price of what a 3 month treatment of the same medication would cost. I asked them to just remove 3 days worth they issued from the new 3 months new prescribed bottle of medicine as oppose to charging me unnecessarily. They refused. This saw me deregisrer with them and move to a new surgery who are absolutely outstanding. As thought, the tests that Vets4Pets were urgently needing to do were far too regular, I am now prescribed 6 months medicines and then he is given a quick review and once over and if all ok, the process is repeated. He hasn't required any blood or urinevsamples in the last 12 months following his 1st consultation when these were all carried out and results were back that day. Vets4pets began taking my dog into a room.fir his checkups without us and without checking and it wascalwatscthe vet nurses seemingly doing the checkups, I never saw a vet after the ear issue again and when I rang or called in numerousctikesto try and speak to one, they were either 'off site' or in surgery or otherwise. I was told only the Vet could discuss results of tests and prescribe new meds yet when I chased results myself, I was told the results were back vet would call me back as soon as they werewolf of surgery or a consultation only for me to have to call back again and again and on one occasion the next day after getting no return call in an 8 hour period! When I called on that occasion the following day, I was told the Vet hadn't rang as the results had only just arrived that morning and contrary to thier previous policy about the Vet and only the Vet giving results to clients, I was given them over the phone by a vetenary nurse on duty without delay or having to ask?!!!I thought these franchises with Pets at Home were a fabulous thing after my first couple of visits, however every visit after that seemed disorganized, chaotic and unprofessionally led.....!!!! Seriously consider a smaller, family based vets surgery as these big firms with massive franchisee promise you the best to get you in and, I can only speak for myself when I say that they left me feeling extremely let down, unimportant and pretty much ignored and very much a non priority. Inconsistency coupled with lies about thier policies to suit whatever was happening on the day i.e. Staff levels being minimal, computer systems down or on a go slow, running late, long queues, Vets absence and/or rudeness are in combo, not for my dog when paying for His welfare and trusting re medical care. Thankfully I have found completley the opposite to my experience with Vets4Pets.... Maybe they've improved since I removed my pet from thier client/patient list ? Good lucknifvyou do opt to register your pet with them!
